It's like blimmin' autumn outside - I LOVE it!

So much so, I'm just back from a walk on the beach in the pouring rain - it was blissful - I had pink wellies on and a pink kagool, chances are I looked ridiculousx100 but it felt ah-mazing!

I'm thinking I'm prolly the only chica who is diggin' autumn in June, right?

Just to remind you, I LOVE the sunshine, but do not like heat, it plays havoc with my hair do and makes me feel like a sweaty, pink mess - not attractive.

I LOVE rain more - I love splashin' in puddles, I love rain on my face, I love being in the bath and listening to the rain on the skylight - LOVE, LOVE, lOVE it!

What I love more is that I plan on having a duvet day watching the entire My-so-called-Life dvd boxset!

Why?

Because I can! How fabulous is that?

Y'see, I've created Lisa's bliss-kissed list of fabulousity and for AT LEAST an hour a day, no matter how busy or hectic life may get, I have to do something that's on the list...

My list s'far...

Reading - I do this already, but I read a lot of books for work so I plan on reading a lot more chick lit for total dee-lish pleasure!

Taking props from Lola, have filled-to-the-brim bubble baths - aaaaah!

Meet The Man for dates - I LOVE it when we meet after work and go out for tea and cinema...

Read Elle and Oprah magazine from cover to cover EVERY issue

Walking – I dislike proper exercise but LOVE walking while listening to Doris Day on my Ipod

Pain toe nails - LOVE it!

Watch DVDs - totally immerse myself in a different world - on the bliss kissed list of DVDs to watch on rotation are the Audrey Hepburn box set, the Marilyn Monroe boxset, Sex and the City boxset, My-so-called-Life boxset

The list is on my office door so if I ever get stressed, I can remind myself to take time out and do something I dig instead - I totes recommend it!

If you missed My-So-Called-Life the first time round, you've totes gotta go buy it - it's teen angst at it's finest - the characters wrench at your heart and the dialogue is so sharp, witty and soulful - j'adore! Oh and it's when I first fell boob over bum in love with Jared Leto - j'deffo adore!

Life got a li'l bit too real lifey yesterday and no matter how hard I looked for my pink-tinted shades I just couldn't find 'em.
Boo.

Luckily, The Man knew the best solution - a trip to the cinema to see Fantastic 4!
So, so good. I LOVED it.
Do you know what else I loved? Chris Evans looking all HAWT - mmm.

So, first - big hugs and glitter sparkles to all the Pink Ladies who have left messages in my inbox 'bout why I've not been bloggin' so much - shux, did you miss me?!

The world of me includes:

Over the next 4 weeks I'm hosting some rather fabulous Think Pink workshops at Portsmouth City Girls School - we had our first session this week and the girls were ah-mazing!

Girls, if you're reading, can't wait for next week!

A trip to Brighton with my fabulous friend Bella - we used to be penpals when we were younger and we'd follow boybands up and down the country - ah, happy, happy days!
It was so good to spend a day by the sea with her, we talked, shopped, talked, ate chips, and talked a whole lot more...check out Bella's pix so much better than mine!

Do you reckon I can work the 'mermaid' look?

I don't like being able to see the water under your feet - can you tell?

If there was a poutin' competition, I'd like to think Bella and I would win!

What else? I went to see Ocean's 13 last week and crushed on Brad. Hard.
That was a treat!

And, as much as I love live music, I am not a festival goin' girl.
I mean, where does a girl plug in her hair straightners?
I've just seen the amount of mud there is at Glasto and I am every kind of happy that I plan on listening to it on the radio and watchin' it on the TV.
However, my entire social circle ARE there.
I know that I'll be left out of every "do you remember when this happened at Glastonbury?' conversation for the next 6 months!
I will not however, have to have a million, trillion showers to rid myself of mud from every part of my bod next week - phew!
Thank goodness for Radio 1 - it's like actually being there, but not!

I have got PMS.

I want, I need chocolate.

NOW!

I am positively filled-to-the-brim with fabulousity right now!

On Wednesday, the gorgeous Gemma at Oakdale Junior School in East London, won a Think Pink session for herself and 10 friends - fancy that, me, as a prize!

Despite the icky London humidity, which plays havoc with my hair-do, the Oakdale Pink Ladies were total fabulousness, we had a blast! At the end of the session, I got the biggest and bestest group hug ever - I've decided, I wanna do Think pink workshops everyday! Thank you ladies, you rock n' rule!

Yesterday, I hung out with Swanks at his house in Swanksville - we ate yummy food, laughed a lot and watched the most ah-mazing film called 'The Peaceful Warrior' on a TV bigger than my entire house!

I am in LOVE with this film.
I woke up this morning and it was the first thing I thought of.
It's an adaptation of Dan Millman's book, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior." I haven't read the book - although I'm totally going to now and basically it's the story of Dan (Scott Mechlowicz), a college student and world-champion athlete, who is haunted by the feeling that something is missing from his life.

A chance encounter with the enigmatic "Socrates" (Nick Nolte) throws his "perfect" but shallow life into total disarray and he eventually discovers the true meaning of winning - I'm going to buy my own copy and put it in my own Think Pink vanity case of treats that make me feel fab!

Other things that are making me feel fab are:

* Beauty*licious being on sale in stores and looking so cute next to Think Pink on the bookshelf...
* My Heidi Seeker 'Think Pink' necklace that makes even the glummest commuter on a London tube smile
* An email I got from Think Pink reader, Rosie this morning who has set up her own site based on a comment in the book - it's fab, check it out: http://saturdayhappy.blogspot.com

What's making you feel fabulous today?

Films I have seen recently:

Spiderman 3 - I freakin' loved it. I've never really bought into Tobey Maguire as Spiderman, I always thought it should have been Jake Gyllenhal, but I guess that's coz I crush on him hard, but I really, really loved it! I loved the story, I loved the action and it made me laugh and cry - it's a total winner!

Pirates of The Carribean 3
- I read and heard so many bad reviews about this, that The Man and I were thinking of blowin' it off until it came out on DVD, but we couldn't resist, so went along and loved that too! The story was a little weak, and while there wasn't enough Johnny Depp - coz a girl can never get enough of Johnny Depp - there was plenty of Orlando looking sizzling hawt and general fun and yo-ho-ho frolicin', which in my book, and I have two you know, makes it a pretty freakin' good 'film!

TV I have watched recently:

Ugly Betty - ohmystars - I could not have cried more. I laughed really hard at Mark and Whilly, willed Betty to chase after Henry, and now I'm just sad, sad, sad my very favourite TV programme in the ENTIRE world has finished - when's it out on DVD? Want it, need it!

Joseph
- Lee won - WHOOPLA! It was only right and fair and would have been rudenessx100 if either of the other 2 had won. Luckily, they didn't, the right man won and I am beside myself with excitement about going to see him in the West End!

In other news: I was up at 5pm working this morning, so took time out this arvo to hang out with Swanks today who is back from a holiday in Turkey looking hot, hot, hot - I really do have the cutest friends, I got an arm wax, crushed on the dude in the new Head and Shoulders shampoo ad who has the ever-changing hair-do's and read three chapters of how to develop your psychic skills' by David Wells.

I'm doing a Think Pink workshop in London this Wednesday - so if you're one of the 12 girls who won the Puffin competition, I'm totes looking forward to hanging with you and will see you there!

Just found this video on the blog of Mia Tyler, the fabulous, most deffo beauty*licious, daughter of Aerosmith's Steve Tyler - it's freakin' awesome!

Let me know what you think - I particularly love the Judy Garland and Audrey Hepburn quotes!

Tonight's the night.

yep, it's Big Brother.

I am a BIG BB fan, but I really dedicate my time to it, and it makes for a very boring snorin' me according to The Man. So this year, I promised The Man I wouldn't watch, although secretly, I'd decided not to watch on the basis that I have A LOT of work on and I'm never gonna fill bookshelves if I'm watchin' live streams of BB for the next three months.

Except the man has decided to go out this evening, and I'm indoors with a kingsize twix and the remote ALL to myself.
Now, I LOVE the Apprentice, but I can watch that On Demand, so I've figured it won't hurt just to see who's going in, will it?
I don't wanna be a TOTAL social outcast now do I?
Maybe I could just watch one round-up show a week, that way I can write AND still converse with the cool kids on Myspace...

The Man is still seething from the celeb BB, and thinks I shouldn't watch this one out of principle, but the truth is, I LOVE people watching.
It's as simple as that.
The Man also forgets that it was at my BB party for the first series that we became boyf & girlf, so BB will always have a special place in my heart!
The Man's? Not so much!

So in conclusion, I'm going to watch tonight's show.
This DOES NOT mean I'm watching the whole series 'k?

Claim to fame!

I don't know if any of you watched Transmission on Friday night presented by the too, too cute Steve Jones and girl idol Lauren Laverne, but I had just got in from watching Superman 3 - how much do I love that film? Let me count the ways! - and the gorgeous Jake Shears, Ana Mantronix and Beth Ditto were sharing a sofa - when will they work together? That's my dream collaboration right there! As if that wasn't enough, Jake Shears, when asked if he loved Brighton, mentioned how he did rudies in the 'Absolute Love' room at the Hotel Pelirocco.

I have stayed in that room, in that bed!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hotel Pelirocco.

It's a rock n' roll boutique hotel with each room individually designed by artists and musicians, they're incredible! Other favourites of mine are 'Pin Up Parlour' and 'Modrophenia' and if The Man and I ever stay over in our fave city, we always treat ourselves to one of their fabulous rooms, they're super expensive but completely decadent - so swoonsome!

More important than all that though, I can now say that I've shared the same bed as Jake Shears - happy, happy days!

I LOVE Gok Wan.

He's the host of Channel 4's programme, 'How to Look Good Naked'and he's like an injection of self-esteem for womankind. He burns 'Bridget' pants, shows people all their fabulous attributes and how to work them and fills them to the brim with confidence and feel-good deliciousness.
Who wouldn't love this man?!

I LOVE my friends.

Being a self-employed girl has it's advantages as I've pointed out before, I get to work in my tracksuit bottoms - worn with heels and a feather boa - natch and I also get to do things that most people have to wait 'til the weekend to do.
Yesterday was one of those days.
I've got a LOT of deadlines right now, so have turned down bank holiday invites in order to get my work done - how good am I? That does mean missing out on spending time with by bezzie mates so I had a day of it yesterday instead!
I lunched with Miss Sally, had drinks with Swanks and had tea with Chevverchops - I'm now filled with fabulousness that only spending time with friends can bring - perfecto!

Now, you can laugh me outta town but I went to see G4 on Wednesday evening AND loved it!

It is common knowledge that I will out-cheese most people in my tastes, and G4 are no exception, but The Man, who had accompanied me reluctantly, was even up and dancing with me at the end - yep, you even get to dance at a G4 concert, that's how eclectic they are!

I have just bought this...

How adoorbell! Knitted bling, what's not to love about it? The very clever KPS is a totes knitstar, go check out her Etsy!

So, Daniel getting voted off Any Dream will Do?
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Still, it does now leave a clear path for the hot-to-trot, ahhmazingly talented, (did I mention he was hot?) Lee to win - he is making me slightly obsesso-girl but with a performance like Paint it Black, I'd defy anyone not to feel knee wobbles at his beauty. I am currently spending an unhealthy amount of time re-running it over at You Tube - is that bad?

I am in sucha good mood since getting back from my hols, The Man has only been in the cupboard once and that was because he was talking during ADWD - foolish.
I am crazy busy, but because it's stuff I totally love doing, I feel kinda bad calling it work! Before I went away on my hols, I cleared out our back room and have made it a li'l writing den - I've hung a pink ribbon washing line with cute cards and quotes, I've pinned up my mood board which I posted on here - still haven't done the actual exercise, but it's deffo on my list of things to do - and have made a Lola Love inspired mix CD to play as I'm finishing up book 3 and 4 - could life be any sweeter?!!

Saturday, May 19, 2007

I'm back from my hols - it was fab, except some days it was 38 degrees, and as anyone that has ever had to spend time with me in the summer will tell you, I do NOT do heat.
Not only does it cause havoc with my normally poker-straight hair, it makes me ever-so-slightly antsy. The joys of a hotel room with air-con saved The Man from a vay grumpy me!

Luckily, when you're on your hols you don't have to do too much, so I stayed in the shade, ate my body weight in ice-cream - for coolin' down purposes, natch and read lots and lots of books - it was totally bliss kissed...The man is a totes sun worshipper so is now a bronzed chunk of man beauty, I, on the other hand am still working just a slight dusting of sunshine - I don't wanna be wrinkled and leather-like before I'm 30 now, do I?

So, we went to Dubrovnik in Croatia...

It is so beautiful, has amazing beaches, the water is so clear, 'cept we were probably there 40 years too early...seriously, there were a LOT of olden days people there! It was v.cool though, hardly any tourists so we had entire beaches to ourselves...

Went island hopping on a boat trip - that was v.cool...

Looks like I've got no clothes on, but I did have a dress on, honest!

Half way through the holiday, I got bitten. Boo. Turns out I'm allergic to mosquito bites, and what should of been a slightly irritating, itch turned into a super swollen elephant ankle - so, so not attractive!

Left Foot - this is the normal one btw!:

Right Foot - the attack of the elephant!

Poor me! I did feel ridiculously sorry for myself for a day, it got bigger than this y'know, and we had planned a day trip to Montenegro which is a whole other country and everything and was apparently where some of the latest James Bond film had been filmed, so I was all about the glitz and glam, except I had an elephant foot, which is just not conducive to hanging out in a A-list hotspot. Being the brave li'l soldier that I am, I still went, and while there were no celebs - boo, it was deffo a hotspot, over 40 degrees - whoopla!
Montenegro is soo beautiful, the men are super-tall, average height of a montenegro man is 6 ft 9 inches! I know. Unfortunately, I have no photographic evidence of this due to being on hols with The Man, he was not buying the whole 'I need to take pics for research purposes' line. Boo to The Man. Believe me though, they were v.tall and v.attractive...

Instead, here is a picture of Montenegro from the mountains, still pretty though, right?

Croatia gives very good sunsets and each evening The Man and I would sit at the beach bar sippin' beverages, eating something fish-like - I ate a LOT of fish, and looking out over the beach - it was a li'l bit like paradise might be I reckon - my favourite chico and the prettiest sight I ever did see, ahhhhh!

A li'l while back, my partner in NY walkin', Keris, discovered Carrie & Danielle. They run a company that helps people discover their Style Statements - two words that define who you are. The first word is your essence (80%) and the second word is your unique twist (20%).

Basically, this statement then becomes a compass for designing a life that reflects the best version of you. From your wisdom to your wardrobe; from the stuff you love to your bed room, your work, your finances, and the parties you throw - your Style Statement is where your essence meets your expression.

You with me?

Examples might include Elegant Creative, Graceful Innovative, Classic Vitality, Cultivated Magic, Timeless Play...
I, like Keris, thought I could do with a style statement of my own. In order to work out your style statement Carrie and Danielle ask a series of questions, things like:

What’s your favourite colour?
What’s your favourite flower?
What outfit do you feel most comfortable in?
What would you wear to the Academy Awards?
What would you do with a million dollars?
What objects do you collect?
Where do you feel most at home?
Describe your perfect day.
If Annie Leibovitz (super cool photographer lady) was to take your photo, and you were in charge of art direction, what would the photo look like?
And, most importantly, why?

To help me answer my questions, I made a mood board of images and things I loved, like Lola does in Think Pink, and I realised how much I love, love, love cutting and pasting! Not only did I get to play, I also produced this fabulous collage of things I love and wanna attract into my life - check it out!

I'm still working on the actual Style Statement, but the mood board has been brilliant for helping my heart and head get clear 'bout what I want - lots of books, writing, painting, a pink nissan figaro - have you seen those cars? I totes adore them! More travel, more visits to my favourite places, lots of bright clashing colour, inspiro women like America, Nigella, Kelly Brook, oh, and to be as successful as Oprah - cool stuff, eh?!

I've bingo-ing mad!

Yesterday, it was my friend Adam's b'day and we went to Bingo.

It was the stuff of dreams.

I love Bingo. I've even got a badge to prove it.

You can get one too from www.plastic-bat.co.uk

Bingo is completely under-rated.

You have to be quick of the mark, know your numbers and have an attention span longer than 5 seconds - I have trouble with all 3 of these.
It made for a pretty interesting afternoon.

Adam's mum is a bingo rockstar, she has the proper pens and everything. I aspire to be her. I did have a dobber, special bingo terminology, y'know, which makes a dot on the numbers and should make it easier, apart from having more hands NOTHING makes Bingo easier.
It was hard.
Really hard.
There really should be Bingo initiation, because I was completely out of my depth. First we attempted to take a seat, but there is a total unwritten rule 'bout where you sit, namely, nowhere, because the regulars all have a table each, we were banished upstairs, we took our seats and while I was checking out the too-cool-for-school decor, pink and gold - tres chic, it blimmin' started!
I literally didn't have time to breathe, the dude calling the numbers was so fast and the games were relentless, it was all I could to keep up.
I figured I didn't need to worry 'bout getting the lines, and that I would concentrate on getting the full house, except it doesn't work like that, who knew?

By the end of it, I think Adam's mum was in complete despair of me, needless to say, I won nada, nothing, but the experience was like a rollercoaster and no sooner had it finished and my adrenalin was pumpin', I wanted to do it all over again...It's free on a Sunday, so I'm gonna make it a regular thing and get good at it.

Bingo is the new going out.
Serious.

What was meant to be an afternoon of b'day celebration, namely coz I wanted to get home to watch 'Any Dream Will Do', turned into a night of dizzy water-fueled fun thanks to Martin buying Adam Singstar Legends.
I momentarily pined for my sofa, a bar of galaxy and Lee singing me sweet nothings, but the pull of Singstar is too strong.
I baggsied 'Son of a Preacher Man' by Dusty Springfield, Martin took Johnny Cash, Vix and I duetted on 'The Greatest Love of all' by Whitney Houston - what is not to love about a power ballad? and The Man and Adam did 'Rocket Man' by Elton John. We have seriously sore throats this morning and, after eating a tub of ice-cream and a strawberry cheesecake from the container between us all, our bellies are seriously sore too.
Was vay fun though - happy days!

I got my book.

I got my book.

I GOT MY BOOK!

Look at it, it's beeeeeeyoooootifoool!

This is a sneaky peek inside, there are so many totes adoreable treats in there I'm in Lola and The Pink Ladies heaven!

And look how pretty they look together...sigh.

I'm in LOVE.

Is it wrong that I've watched this 5 times in the last half hour?

Boo to Seamus.

No Seamus, it was not a conspiracy theory, you were voted off because you're a teeny tiny bit on the arrogant side, and that is not a quality the British voting public like, mister "I'm far too good for this competition."
(although, in an earlier post, I did admit to crushing on him a bit for that very reason, does that make me a bad person?)

Yep, I am totes obsessed by the Josephs. They're my new favourite thing. Well more specifically, Lee is my new favourite thing.
Hello there.

Ohh, let me tell you 'bout my yesterday, The Man and I went to Weymouth, that's where the man is from y'see.
If you've never been, you've totally got to go, it's by far the most beautiful, picture-perfect seaside town in the entire UK and yesterday, in the sunshine, it was positively showin' off!

It was whistle stop tour that included:
visting parentals, checking out new decor, cake-eating - The Man's mum puts my cake-making efforts to shame, her chocolate sponge cake is the cake equivalent of Lee from Joseph-yumsville, discussing the qualities of Natasha Bedingfield - I heart her mostest, it seems The Man's bro hearts Natasha too but for TOTALLY different reasons, The Man's mum's man taking us to Portland Bill where we ate ice cream and I got nostalgic for a TV programme I used to watch as a nipper called 'The adventures Portland Bill', visiting grandparentals - which is by far the highlight of my day because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Man's grandparentals! They're in their 80s and are still so in love it makes my heart spill over, they're also the best storytellers ever and I could listen to them talk ALL day!, more eating, a long car journey home and the best nights sleep I've had in pretty much forever!

I am now so filled up with good stuff, that I KNOW this week can be nothing but fabulous - hope yours is too!

Saturday, April 28, 2007

So it's the gap between Any Dream Will Do, I did turn over to watch the Grease programme but it is so unbeelievably shodsville it makes me cringe, AND Kavana is on there, I used to crush on him at Radio 1 roadshows.
Now?
Not so much.
I don't like to shout about the fact I'm in on a Saturday night, but I have been a totes social butterfly this week - Wednesday, I got my gig-girl on and went to rock out with Juliette and The Lick - she was too cool for school, and her band, well they were permanent residents of skinny-hipped guitar boy land, a place I plan on going to on holiday this year - who's coming?
They were dee-lish!

Thursday, the man and I had VIP tix to a new club opening in town. Now, I am NOT a clubbing kind of girl, but I love me a swanky event AND the fact that Miss Sally, Lou and Dru were going too made it an invitation that I decided to RSVP to.
We really shouldn't have bothered.
In fact we kinda didn't. We arrived to a marching band, which, if you ask me was the highlight of the entire evening - I LOVE me a marching band, I was in one as a nipper y'know - happy days. The club itself was nice enough, but I just don't think I've ever been a clubbin' kind of girl really, I love to throw a shape or two, but to The Stone Roses and Primal Scream NOT some crazy-assed beats. We made a swift exit and headed to the local pub where we laughed our sox off all night, much more fun.

Then yesterday, I met with my fab friend Mark to celebrate his b-day - he'd invited lots of people I hadn't seen for such a long time so the evening was spent catching up over diet coke - I made my excuses at 8.30, though as I had to walk across town to get home for Ugly Betty - what? While Mark is incredibly fabulous, I don't have a vid recorder and I can't afford to miss another UB especially when Walter's girlfriend was coming to town! Which is why, tonight, it's just me and the Joseph boys!
Who wouldn't be happy with that?

The dream is over for hot-to-trot Anthony as he was stripped of his Joseph coat in the earlier show - sad, sad days - he was so superhero good looking, when he sang Close Every Door I cried.
I'm sad like that.
For non-Joseph fans THIS is Anthony.

You'd be crying too, right?
Luckily though Daniel and Lee, my total favourites, seem to be blowin' everyone out of the water - wohhoo! What's that you want to see them too?
Oh, if you insist!

Daniel = yum.

Lee = yum x100.

Okay, so we're back AND there's loincloths - sweet.

Back later!

Thursday, April 26, 2007

Thanks to the gorgeous girls in the office, my last day at the Tuesday job was so-oo dee-lish-ously fabulous!

My desk had been decorated in pink fairy princess prettyness and miss Lyds - she's a Rainbow Leader y'know, had made a li'l sign for our cake stall AND more cakes - chocolate with pink icing and jelly tots, mmmmm...

As if that wasn't enough, the gorgeous girls in the office then paid £2 to come to lunch with me - how great is that? We made a total of £46.50 towards my Walk New York fundraiser - wohhhhoooo!

I'm sad to not hang out with the ladies on a Tuesday, but I'm really excited to be a real, proper freelance girl now - I've just got my first commissions for Bliss magazine and plan on more pitching today and tomorrow, I'm delivering some Think Pink workshops in May, which I love, love, love because it means I get to finally meetsome of the fabulous readers, the new book - Beauty*Licious is out June 4th - still haven't seen it yet - so excited 'bout it though, and I've got some fabulous projects lined up that are top secret, but I'll share them with you just as soon as I can - coz I'm good like that!

I went back to school yesterday - yep, I'm properly learning!
I saw a documentary couple of weeks ago with Davina McCall 'bout how sex education here in the UK is some of the worst in the world - now, that makes me mad x100.
Us girls need to know what's going on so we can be as feisty, fun, fearless and fabulous as possible, but how can we do that if we don't talk about our well-being, how to look after our sweet-selves, how to say 'no'?
That's why I think PSHE is so important and I am totally madness personified that it's not on the curriculum - so, instead of stompin' my pink croc-encased foot, I've decided to do something about it, I'm studying to become a practitioner, which means I can go into schools and deliver PSHE - cool eh?!

In other news, my ed-girl got to go to the Spiderman 3 premiere earlier this week, now if that wasn't cool enough, she got to meet all the Josephs.
I am green with envy.
Her insider info revealed that Lee was rocking a sexy grey suit and is now her favourite, Anthony was hot, Seamus is evil, and that Chris B really does have A LOT of teeth in his mouth.
I am still jealous she got to see 'em in person though - how do I get me on that show?

I didn't really think Johndeep deserved to go this weekend, I think Ben, while very cute, is a li'l bit out of his depth. Lee is by far my favourite, Daniel is a vay, vay close second, although I too am crushing on Anthony, I like Rob the builder coz he reminds me of Lee Sharpe and Keith has a voice I totes adore but he really should be in McFly!

You know how much I like lists, so this week my list is - things I would like right now...

Lee from Joseph. On my arm. Permanently.
A copy of Beauty*Licious.
Beef Hula Hoops.
Natasha Bedingfield's new album.
A Marc Jacobs bag.
The Ella Fitzgerald album on the advert.

Today I heart cupcakes and accessories of fabulousity.

So today has been every kind of fabulous.
One of those days you wish you could bottle up and crack open when life is major-league sucksville.

I heart cupcakes

Tomorrow is my last day at the Tuesday job - sad days - but with the help of sweet Lydia, a too-cool, make-it-happen kind of girl, we have turned it into a shameless fundraising event for my New York half marathon - so, I'm havin' a cake bake, yep, as in I, Lisa Clark, bake cakes and sell them for charity...
BTW: if you haven't sponsored me yet, you can do it over at: www.justgiving.com/pinklisaclark plug plug!

I thought a cake bake would be the perfect opportunity to channel my inner Nigella.
Not so much.
I'd arranged to bake with my pops as he is vay fabulous in the kitchen, apparently, after today's attempts, it seems I didn't inherit that gene.
It started badly when my pops blew me out on arrival - he had a TV to go buy - leaving me in the kitchen, alone.
Needless to say, I messed up, Nigella was not channeled, and my pops' kitchen still smells of burnt cakes that I had put in the microwave for too long...

Who knew you didn't put 'em in the microwave? I mean seriously, who knew that?
Not me.

Pop's came back, laughed at me - what's funny? - and managed to 'knock up' a chocolate sponge cake AND 24 cupcakes while I watched E! Entertainment on Sky!
I DID decorate them though, I made icing and everything and then added my own li'l touch with Love Hearts and sprinkles!

Cute, eh?

I love items of fabulousity

I love post. I love post with cute things in it.
Today's post was most deffo post with cute things in it. I got this totes adoreable clip from the sweet-as-sugar Lucia at www.bettyjoy.co.uk - there's an interview with Lucia vay soon over at Pink-world, keep checkin' in for more deets - don't you just love it? I feel like a hula-hula girl when I wear it, which will be basically all the time from now on, I heart it!

I also got a blast from past when I got my very own 'truly outrageous' JEM necklace from the sparkly-gorgeous new supertalent that is Princess Sparkle Pants - we'll be showcasing these girls vay, vay soon, until them check out their myspace at: www.myspace.com/welovesparklepants
Before Lola, there was Jem.
Forget Barbie, Jem was my most favourite doll of all with pink hair and flashing earrings - she was my total hero-girl.
Now I've got a Jem necklace. Happy, happy days!

And it's reversible!

I don't like being scared.
I scare easily which is one of the reasons I don't watch the news, besides the fact it gives you wrinkles, and I don't want wrinkles, not one little bit.
I can't even watch Inspector Morse.
Which is why, when I read this
"Do one thing that scares you every day"
a quote from the uber-cool chica Eleanor Roosevelt, I didn't get it.
Why would anyone actually want to do something that would make them scared? That's just stupid, right?
Then, I read author girl and lady of fabulousness, Meg Cabot's blog and she said she was scared of public speaking.
Now, I've seen this lady speak and she'll rock your socks, but she reckons she only got good by scaring herself into actually doing it in the first place.
She took baby steps, she started by talking in front of small audiences, she got good at that, then scared herself a bit more by upping the audience numbers.

I'm all about the baby steps.
I'd love to be one of those chicas who make huge life-changing decisions at the drop of my Kittypinkstars hat, but while I love a drama, I just can't do it.
What I can do though, is dream hugely and take baby steps.
When you dream hugely, no matter what your background, where you live, your current situation, ANYTHING is possible.

Some people don't dream hugely, they reckon it saves them from being disappointed.
Some people dream, but let their current sitch dictate whether it's possible or not - eg. "I want that fab pair of kick-ass trainers but I can't afford them. Oh well, I won't have them."
Other people, the pink thinking types will dream hugely, will paint a world of fabulousness filled with everything they want - they'll see it in their head, they'll write about it, they'll think about how great it will feel to wear those trainers/write that book/own a Prada handbag - they'll then most importantly, work out how to make it happen, create a plan of action, set goals, set deadlines.
That's where the baby steps come in.

You wanna write a book?
Well, start by writing a list of all the things that need to happen in order for that book to become a reality. Number 1, and actually the hardest part of all, is to write it.
Haven't got time?
Make time. Schedule an hour a day into your diary like a proper date with your sweet-self.
Can't dedicate an hour?
Get up earlier. If it means that much to you, you'll make time.
If you write for an hour every day, pretty soon you'll have a whole book on your hands.
See, baby steps.
It's all about the baby steps.

So no excuses 'k? I've never read that book 'Feel the fear and do it anyway' but people tell me it's really rather good.
I dig the title.
The point, is that you can't let where you're at now, decide where you'll always be - I'm from a single parent family, lived on a council estate, was overweight and struggled for money. I was told I wouldn't succeed and that people like me - whatever that meant - shouldn't waste their time dreaming, because the good stuff, the exciting stuff, the fabulous stuff didn't happen to people like me.

Hah!

They were wrong.

Bigtime.

So, do one thing each day that scares you, take one step further towards your dream - reach for the stars but reach for the closest one first 'k?

To quote one of my all time fave films: "...you've gotta have a dream, if you don't have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?"
